When Gene and Shannon see the potential in the business they pressure her into expanding, but she doesn't want to conquer the world--just get an A. While on tour with KISS Gene manages to find a few days to sneak back home to the family only to interrupt Shannon's latest project--building a pool house.
Gene gets more than he bargained for when Shannon realizes all of their neighbors' signatures must be on the permits so they must begin kissing butt and doing favors to win these strangers over. Little does he know the rock band is comprised of middle-aged moms that will completely change his opinions about what is marketable. Gene becomes obsessed with a mystery creature scurrying around the house that only he can hear. While Gene goes on the hunt for the vermin, Sophie decides to make some extra money babysitting but must call Nick for reinforcements when the kids become too much to handle.
The Newlyweds are put to the test as they tour South America. While Gene is busy playing Rock God, surrounded by the temptation of groupies, Shannon grows tired of babysitting him. Can their marriage survive the Rock Star lifestyle? After a 28 year courtship, Gene and Shannon are finally man and wife.
But just because a ring is on her finger does not mean all of their troubles are behind them. When Shannon decides to adopt a child some of Gene's past indiscretions rear their head to drive another wedge between them. After Sophie's and Nick's strong objection to adoption, Shannon suspects that Gene is wavering as well and arranges for Gene to meet happy families that have adopted. Meanwhile, cut off Nick searches for a place to live. With Gene's past hopefully behind them, Gene and Shannon move the Tweed-Simmons clan to phase two which includes putting their adoption plan back on track and making sure Nick has a plan for his future.
After Sophie is a no-show for an important adoption meeting, an upset Shannon goes to Whistler to confront her daughter about her behavior and the adoption. Shannon is worried the family will sabotage her adoption plans during their official interviews with the agency.
Meanwhile, an upset Sophie is nowhere to be found and will not return any of Shannon's calls. To distract Shannon from adopting, Gene suggests an overdue honeymoon. Shannon picks a shocking location while Tracy struggles with baby plans of her own. Nick discovers he has lost his phone. The clock is ticking as Gene is stranded in the desert and meets an odd cast of characters attempting to hitchhike to Vegas. S3, Ep6. A packed house at the Hard Rock awaits Gene's arrival to witness his first solo performance ever.
S3, Ep7. Gene has to go to Sea World on business and decides to take the whole family, including Tracy's twin 4 year old sons, but the trip turns out badly for Sannon and Tracy, who get food poisoning.
That leaves Gene alone to take the twins sightseeing. S3, Ep8. Gene is unable to remain a silent partner when he agrees to help fund Shannon and Tracy's new Nail Salon business venture. Attempting to muscle in and run the business his way, Shannon and Tracy must call all of their family and friends in for back-up to undo Gene's mess.

For over 24 years Shannon Tweed has been documenting the life and times of the Simmons-Tweed clan and in this special episode the family sits down to watch the classic home movies and show us how they became the non-traditional traditional family they are today. S3, Ep Gene is pleasantly surprised when the intern he reluctantly agrees to mentor saves the day by rescuing an important photo shoot from disaster and helps him close a major business deal to put Gene's "Money Bag" clothing line in stores nationwide.
Gene's research for a book documenting the history of prostitution gets him in trouble. Meanwhile, Nick gets a surprise visit from an old friend that causes tension with his girlfriend Cody. Sophie's internship for a fashion designer turns into her designing her very first dress and strutting the catwalk during fashion week.
The family answers fan's e-mail questions and gives a behind the scenes look at their favorite scenes featuring never before seen footage. Shannon and Tracy's original plan for a little nip and tuck becomes much more than either of them planned. Meanwhile, Gene gets stuck babysitting his friend's depressed, recently divorced sister and gets asked by Donald Trump to compete on "Celebrity Apprentice. Shannon and Tracy end up getting many more procedures done than originally planned.
